Medical bills in Lebanon are settled in fresh dollars, and a single surgery or a few nights in hospital can run into thousands. A health policy turns that risk into a known yearly amount, paid in instalments.

Up to $150,000 a year, priced per person

Good to know

Prices are yearly, in USD, plus a $20 policy fee.
Pay 25% upfront and the rest in up to 6 instalments.
Classic and Plus family rates follow the older spouse's age. Essential is priced per person.
New members can join up to age 65. Rates above 65 apply to renewals, and members aged 66 and over need a blood test and medical examination.
During the first 9 months, cover is limited to urgent, non-recurrent infections and accidents. On Essential, outpatient cover follows after one year.
Maternity is covered after 10 months of membership.
Asthma, allergies, prostate, cataract, glaucoma, varicose veins, joint and spine conditions are covered after 1 year (2 years from age 60).
Enrolment is confirmed by the insurer.

Health insurance questions

How much does health insurance cost in Lebanon with ASK Re?

Hospital cover starts at $356 a year for an adult aged 18 to 24 on the Essential plan, or $169 for a child, plus a $20 policy fee. Unlimited hospital cover on Classic starts at $756 a year. A couple aged 25 to 35 with two children pays $2,254 a year for Classic hospital cover, or $3,325 with unlimited outpatient cover at 100%.

What is the difference between Essential, Classic and Plus?

Essential covers hospital stays up to $150,000 a year per person, with optional outpatient cover up to $3,500, and excludes three Beirut hospitals. Classic gives unlimited cover in Lebanon with class B hospitalisation and an open network. Plus adds class A hospitalisation and worldwide cover.

Can I insure my whole family?

Yes. Classic and Plus have family rates for a couple with up to six children, based on the older spouse's age. On Essential, each family member is priced by age and the premiums are added together. Newborns of insured mothers are covered free until the policy renews.

Is there a waiting period?

Yes. For the first 9 months, cover is limited to urgent, non-recurrent infections and accidents. Maternity is covered after 10 months, and some chronic conditions such as asthma, cataract or spine problems after 1 year (2 years from age 60).

Is there an age limit?

New members can join up to age 65. Existing members renew beyond 65 at the rates shown for their age, with a blood test and medical examination from age 66.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. You pay 25% when the policy starts and the rest in up to 6 instalments. Premiums are in USD.
